What are leadership support circles?
Based on the principles of Schwartz Rounds, the model of leadership support circles was established by the National NHS Health and Wellbeing Team to support leaders and managers in response to the current Covid-19 crisis. The circles are an opportunity for leaders and managers to take some 'time out' to explore relevant leadership topics and to access valuable peer support at this time, and we have created a specific programme for the leaders of NWBH. Each circle lasts for just one hour, is run virtually, and is themed around a specific topic.
How does it work?
Sessions are designed to fit around busy schedules and leaders are able to dip into the sessions in the order of their preference. There isn't a requirement to attend all of the available topics although many of you may find them really helpful.
We will initially be launching the 'Looking after yourself' session as we believe that to effectively and compassionately lead others, we must begin by reflecting on our own wellbeing first.
We will then follow with a range of further topics. Here is an example of the types of topics that will be available. We will be finding out from leaders who attend the pilot sessions, which of the topics they would like to be made available first.
How do I book a place?
As we move into the Autumn, we will be further enhancing the support package for our leaders and will be providing further development and wellbeing opportunities, so watch this space! But in the meantime, we would encourage you to book onto a session and to get involved.
Anyone with people management responsibility is welcome to sign up.
