On Wednesday 19 May, Chief Executive, Simon Barber, and Chairman, Helen Bellairs, unveiled our lasting legacy to commemorate your incredible efforts and remember those who lost their lives during the pandemic.

The sun shone as the bench, plaque and blossom trees were revealed to the socially distanced gathering in the pretty, peaceful setting of the memorial garden at Hollins Park.

It was especially poignant that Andy Collier‘s wife Carol and Paul Gaythwaite’s husband David attended alongside Andy and Paul’s teammates. We know it meant a lot to them to see their loved ones recognised.

Simon and Helen said a few words to thank our fantastic staff and volunteers for all they have done in the fight against Covid.

You are welcome and encouraged to visit the site at any time to rest and reflect in your own way. For those who haven’t been before, the memorial garden is located to the left of Chesterton Unit, past the greenhouse tunnels.

You can watch a short video from the event below.
