Mersey Care has confirmed that IT equipment allocated to individual users will move with them to Mersey Care. Any shared or communal equipment will remain in situ for day one, but will be reviewed by each service area after acquisition. IT may need to temporarily swap devices while they are being imaged for Mersey Care network.

All access to data stored in shared drives (including G, and others) will remain in place from day one of transition. This data will be accessible in the same way as it is now.

Software will still be accessible on day one.

On the day of the acquisition all users will receive an @merseycare.nhs.uk email from day one. All emails (and calendar items, contacts etc.) in nwbh.nhs.uk mailboxes will be moved to your new @merseycare.nhs.uk, including historic emails. Any emails sent to your @nwbh.nhs.uk email address will be redirected to your @merseycare.nhs.uk mailbox. Please note, further information regarding the mailbox migration will be circulated in due course as there are some preparations that will be taking place in April ahead of acquisition. This will explain any potential disruption in email service whilst preparations are made, and the steps that can be taken to minimise disruption by clearing/deleting non-essential email from your mailbox.

The project to merge the two Rio systems together will take around 18 months, so access to the existing Rio systems will be the same on day one as it is today.

Mersey Care has a number of clinical systems – RiO is used across Mental Health Services (Local Division), EMIS is used across Community Physical Health Services and Children Services (Community Division), and PACIS is used in High Secure services.  Services transferring from North West Boroughs will continue to use its instance of RiO for the short to medium term whilst plans are implemented to merge the Mersey Care and North West Boroughs RiO systems.  RiO has been configured and is supported by a joint team that works across both Trusts so the functionality and setup is similar across both Trusts.

Current access to resources such as the Learning Disability Care Collaborative internet pages will remain as they are on day one. However, there will be plans to standardise the internet and intranet across the enlarged Mersey Care, and this will be done in a phased way.
