In order to complete an identity check, the trust must endeavour to verify that the person is who they say they are by seeing and reviewing original identity documents and validating the authenticity of the documentation that has been obtained.
Identity checks are designed to determine that the identity is genuine and relates to a real person and to also establish that the individual owns and is rightfully using that identity.
In order to very a person’s identity you will need to see and photocopy the following at interview (you must see the original documents, photocopies must not be accepted):
- Two forms of photographic personal identification and one document confirming address
Or
- One form of photographic personal identification and two documents confirming address
