Meet your network Chair
I am a first generation Indian doctor who migrated to the UK in 2007. Since then, I and my family have lived through many challenges faced by members of the BME community.
NHS is the fifth biggest employer in the world and single biggest employer in the UK. With increase in globalisation, it is imperative that NHS becomes truly multicultural at all levels of the organisation. Most NHS organisations have a large workforce which belong to BME community. I am very passionate about sharing our cultural values and differences with others so that we can be an inclusive organisation which respects staff, patients and members of the public of all class, color or creed irrespectively.
I have been privileged to chair the BME networks since late 2020. I am passionate to share my personal experiences and learning over the past decade to drive changes within the organisation so that every member of the BME community feels valued and respected for their individual characteristics and achievements irrespective of their racial origin
Meet your network Vice Chair
Hi I am Justina (e) K Nakimuli and my role is as a Clinical team manager in NWBH:
Equality, Diversity and Inclusion is a subject very close to home and something I’m very committed to. 2020 has been a turning point for us BAME communities due to Covid-19 disproportionate impacts: As a result this has led to a massive EDI agenda that I’m truly excited about and prompted me to accept this role as a chance to impact positively.
I’m passionate about inclusive leadership and a genuinely distributed approach to leadership: #looking 4ward to working with everyone and moving the BME network to great heights.
