There is a 60% probability of severe cold weather between 9am on Wednesday 3 March until 9am on Monday 8 March in parts of England.  Areas of cloud will hold daytime temperatures down in the north on Wednesday and Thursday with overnight frosts, especially over higher ground.  Some snow showers are possible on higher ground on Wednesday night which may give locally icy surfaces.  Cold northerly winds will spread in during Thursday and Friday which will give cold, frosty nights.

On receipt of a Met Office Level Two cold weather alert, all staff need to ensure that they review and action the severe weather action card. Further information is also available on the severe weather planning page on StaffZone.
