We are installing a permanent memorial plaque, bench and trees to recognise and remember your response to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Located in the memorial garden at our Hollins Park headquarters, it will provide a space for rest and reflection following one of the most challenging experiences of our lifetimes.

The plaque is intended as a thank you to all of you for everything you have done to continue caring for our patients and each other during the past 14 months. It will, of course, also remember those North West Boroughs patients and two members of staff who sadly died from coronavirus.

The global Covid-19 pandemic will be remembered as a significant part of history and it feels fitting that your contribution is immortalised for people to look back on in generations to come.

Chief Executive, Simon Barber, and Chairman, Helen Bellairs, will be unveiling the plaque and bench in situ at the Hollins Park memorial garden on Wednesday 19 May. Staff are welcome to join the short, informal event at 12.30pm. Please note, you must maintain social distancing at all times.

While it is fully acknowledged there has been much sadness, loss and hardship for so many over the last year, we are keen that the unveiling has more of a celebration and thank you feel to it. Therefore, it will include a minute’s applause in place of a minute’s silence.

If you are unable to attend, you and your team may wish to join in the applause wherever you are.

Everyone is free to visit and use the space at any time for your own personal reflection.
