Job matching and evaluation
There is a requirement for the Job Evaluation Scheme to be used to determine the banding of new and significantly changed posts. This procedure ensures consistency in approach in line with the Agenda for Change agreement.
Acting up and additional responsibilities
When a manager has a position they need to cover for a temporary period whilst organising permanent arrangements, they may decide to use existing staff members to cover it. In this case they will choose to 'Act Up' someone into the position. This not only provides them with support in covering the post but it is also a developmental opportunity for the staff member.
