The length of time learners are placed at North West Boroughs Healthcare NHS Trust (NWBH) can indicate which type of Induction is required.

Once you have been allocated a placement with the Trust please access the placement profile on online PARE and contact the relevant personnel

A local induction/orientation is required for all non-medical healthcare learners in placement. A member of staff will conduct the local induction, in most cases this will be the Practice Assessor/ Supervisor or Educator within the first day of placement. All healthcare learners will have received basic mandatory training in core subjects at their University.

If your practice placement is longer than 4 weeks in duration you will require a Network Account, this will be created for you, please check your University email for further details. Once a Network Account has been created, learners can access the intranet which includes access to local policies and procedures:

Please contact the Practice Education Team if your Network Account has not been arranged

If your practice placement is longer than 4 weeks in duration you will require access to the patient electronic system record - RIO.

Students who have been on placement with the Trust in the last 12 months are not required to repeat this training.  If this is your first placement with us or it has been over 12 months you will be required to complete our online training.

In order to access the RIO system you will require a Smartcard. If you do not have a smartcard you will need to contact the Registrations Authority team in our Trust to arrange a convenient appointment.

Full guidance on Smartcards and links to book RIO training will be sent to your Trust email, if you have not received this please contact the Practice Education Team on 01925 664 177
