This year’s Our Stars event will be held virtually, with winners announced live on Thursday night.

Because it’s a bit different to the usual celebration event, we want to let you know what to expect.

The ceremony

Microsoft Teams Live allows up to 10,000 people to join, so all staff can join in the fun!

When you click on the link, you will be watching a live broadcast of the event, more like watching live TV, rather than joining a meeting. That means there won’t be a message function like you may be used to and you won’t be able to see other people who are watching.

You can watch from any device (smartphone, tablet, laptop etc) and don’t need to be on the Trust network. We recommend you connect to your Wi-Fi so you don’t use all your data.

The event starts at 7pm, but you might want to test the link on the device you will be watching on before then.

Testing the link on your device

When you click on the link above, your device will tell you what you need to do – please follow the instructions.

In general, this information should help:

  • Watching on a smartphone, tablet or smart TV

When you open the link on a smartphone or tablet, you will be prompted to download the Teams app. You will need to log in with your work email address and usual login password. Then the link should open using the app.

  • Watching on your personal laptop or computer

If accessing through your own computer or laptop, you will be able to view within your internet browser (eg Google Chrome / Safari / Edge etc). Please avoid using Internet Explorer.

Running order

We’d prefer people join for the whole event to support all categories if possible. For that reason, we’ve decided not to share the running order in advance.

During the evening, you’ll hear about your finalists and winners will be announced. There will also be a few surprises along the way…

Interacting on the night

We won’t all be in the same room together this year and know interacting with each other is a big part of the fun and celebration. So you don’t miss out on this, a private Facebook group has been set up as a safe space for members to interact, message and post photographs during the event.

You can join the Facebook group now to receive all the latest updates about the event straight to your phone.

To join, search for ‘NWBH Our Stars 21’, use this link or scan the QR code below: www.facebook.com/groups/nwbhourstars21
