All services we deliver in Wigan, Bolton and Greater Manchester footprint, including inpatient wards, will transfer to Greater Manchester Mental Health.  Our inpatient wards provide services for people in Wigan borough in which they are located. These will still be needed after the transfer to Greater Manchester Mental Health has taken place.  However, it is acknowledged that after this transfer Greater Manchester Mental Health may undertake a review of bases and locations, which will be subject to any required organisational change process.

Corporate services for Greater Manchester Mental Health are based at The Curve at the Prestwich site.  However, there is a flexible working policy including a Homeworking Deal which may support staff who do transfer and find the travel an issue.

For the majority of staff they will not be required to change base, clinical services will continue to operate from where they currently do unless the new employer changes this at a point in the future.

The Hollins Park estate will transfer to Mersey Care and staff will continue to be based at Hollins Park. For corporate staff this will continue for at least the first six months post transfer and any proposed future changes to base will be communicated.

GMMH has a wide footprint of services and sites. This currently includes seven hospital sites and many community and prison settings throughout the North West, including Cumbria and Styal.

Greater Manchester Mental Health has completed their due diligence process which involved reviewing documents submitted by our Trust, including the Capital Programme and details of existing estates.   As part of the due diligence, the Greater Manchester Mental Health Estates and Facilities workstream are reviewing documentation, including our Trusts Facet Surveys which all NHS Trusts undertake. These surveys capture property details such as condition, operating and utilities costs therefore any concerns regarding the suitability and condition of the estate will be identified.   We recognise the importance of investment in our community assets and their ongoing improvement is a key part of our capital investment programme. There are opportunities to modernise and consolidate these as we look forward in the context of developing more agile ways of working.
