• Managers are being asked to complete a workplace assessment for your team's work space.

  • A compliance poster should be displayed to confirm the assessment has been completed.

  • Relevant Trust-approved posters and notices should be displayed in all work spaces.

  • You must wear a surgical face mask at all times, in all areas, with the only exception being if you are working alone in an office. This applies for both clinical and non-clinical staff. Full details are on the workplace guidance page.

  • Domestic Services will continue to clean in line with Government guidelines. There will be enhanced cleaning for busy areas and high touch points, such as door handles etc.

  • You must ensure increased frequency of hand washing and surface cleaning.

  • You must clean the desk you are using at the start and end of each day using your usual cleaning products supplied by your local PPE hub.

  • You should use the same workstation all day.

  • You should clean any meeting rooms you use at the start and end of your meeting (general cleaning will be undertaken by Domestic Services).

  • You should use the hand sanitisers installed at multiple additional locations by the Estates Team.

  • You must take any unused food or drink home or dispose of it at the end of each day.

  • Managers are being asked to carry out the following actions to help staff to work from home wherever possible:

    • Plan for the minimum number of people needed on site to operate safely and effectively

    • Monitor the wellbeing of people who are working from home and help them stay connected to the rest of the workforce

    • Keep in touch with off-site workers about their working arrangements, including their welfare, mental and physical health and personal security

    • Provide equipment for people to work at home safely and effectively, for example, furniture, IT equipment, remote access to work systems

  • You must maintain social distancing in the workplace wherever possible.

  • Where possible, office spaces should be arranged so people can work back-to-back or facing away from each other rather than face-to-face. You do not need to physically remove desks which are not being used but you may wish to identify them as not to be used or tape them off.

  • Desks to be used by more than one person should be clear of personal belongings (these can be boxed and saved if the team member is not able to attend to pack them up themselves).

  • Teams are asked to consider staggering arrival and departure times to reduce crowding in and out of the workplace.

  • Managers should manage occupancy levels within office spaces to enable social distancing.

  • You should use remote working tools to avoid face-to-face meetings.

  • You should only attend meetings in person if absolutely necessary and should maintain two-metre distancing throughout.

  • You should use the hand sanitiser provided in all offices and meeting rooms.

  • In communal areas, please be courteous and considerate to colleagues.

  • This guidance is in addition to existing arrangements relating to wearing surgical face masks: Workplace guidance

  • This guidance is in addition to and does not replace use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) in clinical areas.
