StaffZone is our new intranet which launched on Thursday 12 November.
It replaces both Connect and People Direct and brings together all content, including news, policies and guidance, in one place.
Thanks to Laura Tye, Advanced Nurse Practitioner in Wigan, for suggesting the name of the new site. This was chosen for its simplicity – it does what it says on the tin and needs minimal explanation!
StaffZone brings new features, including a powerful search function, discussion forums, an interactive staff noticeboard, and an area where you can access all the online systems you need for your job.
You will be able to access the site on any device, including your own smartphone, and when you’re not on the Trust network. This will make it easier for you to access information when and where it’s convenient for you.
Feedback from those who have been involved in testing is that it’s much easier to find information quickly on StaffZone and very easy to navigate.
Finding information
When StaffZone is live, we will no longer be updating the information on Connect or People Direct. If you try to access pages on these sites, an automatic redirect will return you to the StaffZone homepage.
We have worked with content owners across the Trust to transfer all relevant and current information to StaffZone.
If you have any problems finding information on the new site, please try the search function. If you still can’t find what you need, email: communications@nwbh.nhs.uk
Accessing interactive features
There are a handful of features you will need to be signed in to make full use of – staff directory, notice board and discussion forums. You can sign in using the ‘login’ button in the top right corner.
You will need to use your St Helens and Knowsley Health Informatics Service (HIS) username and password to login.
Staff supported by the HIS who are using a work laptop or computer on the Trust network should find the login is automatic and you should not need to input your password.
Staff supported by Informatics Merseyside or another IT provider need to remember to use your HIS account to sign in.
All Sefton staff will be sent a reminder of your HIS login details today. If you don’t have a HIS login or experience any difficulties accessing the interactive features, email: communications@nwbh.nhs.uk
Anyone signing in on a personal device or when you are not on our Trust network, will also need to us your HIS account details.
Accessing from personal devices off the Trust network
If you aren’t on the Trust network or want to access StaffZone from your personal device (smartphone, iPad, laptop), you will need to use the url: www.staffzone.nwbh.nhs.uk
Administrators
A number of representatives from teams have been trained as administrators so they can upload, edit and manage content for their own areas. If you think it would be helpful to have someone from your team trained as an admin, please email: communications@nwbh.nhs.uk
Further information
Look out for further communications about the different features to help you find your way around and make the most of StaffZone.
In the meantime, see the ‘Making the most of StaffZone’ discussion forum for tips and how-to guides.
