Welcome to Talent for Care

Talent for Care is a strategic framework for the development of the healthcare support workforce, has been developed by Health Education England, supported by the national Social Partnership Forum.

Central to the philosophy of Talent for Care is partnership working at all levels. By working together, we can ensure that the healthcare support workforce receives the investment and development it needs, be highly skilled and flexible, and able to meet the future healthcare challenges.

The Talent for Care programme within NWBH is a voluntary programme with foundations in opening more doors to employment and training in the NHS. Attracting people with the right values and ability to do an excellent job and gaining the benefits of a diverse and experience workforce.

Within NWBH we are currently running a number of programmes to integrate Talent for Care within our day to day operation of the Trust. Providing opportunities for individuals to understand what we do as a trust, to show that we are more than just healthcare and we can offer so much more to voluntary placements than just photocopying.

Our current programmes:

A shadowing or observational experience were people can come to the Trust to see what a particular role is like in a real world setting. Further information can be found here

“Try before you buy” A Traineeship is a voluntary position that we can offer as a pre- apprenticeship style work based learning programme. Providing young people aged16-24 with a chance to study and succeed in a role whilst moving towards an Apprenticeship. A traineeship gives your team an opportunity to shape a talented, potential employee before they are an actual employee. Further information can be found here

An opportunity for us to give back. A supported internship is a type of study and voluntary Work Based Learning programme specifically aimed at young people aged 16 to 24 who have a statement of special educational needs or an EHC plan, who want to move into employment and need extra support to do so. Further information can be found here

A clinical attachment is a voluntary Clinical position designed to give an overview of medical processes and systems in the UK, specifically in the NHS, by observing a consultant in a relevant speciality at work. Further information can be found here

A pathway that has been developed to  prepare people who are looking for a career change or looking to enhance their job opportunities through meaningful work experience. Aimed at anyone from the age 16 upwards, this is a great opportunity for the trust to open up doors to find individuals with the right skills and drive to work in the Healthcare sector who may otherwise be over looked.  Further information can be found here

We currently have a number of established placement opportunities across NWBH including corporate services, IAPT, Resourcing and across multiple roles that cover our Allied Health and Medical professionals. These teams and services have offered great opportunities and have really showcased their place within the organisation, but we need more opportunities to become available.
If you think that your service can offer a placement opportunity click here to complete a placement availability form.
