Amparo are holding short Zoom sessions for people to meet the Amparo team.

Through the sessions you can find out how Amparo works 'on the ground', and learn about the kind of support Suicide Liaison Workers can offer to those who have been affected by suicide through the Amparo Zoom sessions.

The will take place on the following dates, please email Paul Etherington to confirm which date you would like to attend and he will send you the Zoom log-in details:

  • Tuesday 20 Oct at 4pm
  • Friday 30 Oct at 2pm

Amparo offers a free, easy-to-access service backed up by a non-geographic telephone number and/or simple online referral form. Referrals can be made by anyone - they work with, and encourage referrals from, emergency support services, coroners, the NHS or other local support agencies, as well as self-referrals – and these are triaged with the aim of making contact within 24 hours of receipt.

Locally-based Suicide Liaison Workers work with beneficiaries, helping them with practical issues arising from suicide and ensuring they are linked into local support networks. Support is offered for as long as it's required, up to and beyond an inquest.
